Description:
Tactile orientation aids help blind and visually impaired people to find their way safely in public spaces. Grooved, studded or waffle structures on floor tiles mark stops, crossings or danger spots, for example, and are tactile and audible. Guide strips with grooves lead to specific destinations, while studs indicate obstacles or changes of direction. Color and texture contrasts as well as accompanying smooth stripes make it easier to distinguish them from the rest of the floor covering.
