With the help of so-called crossing kerbs with a zero drop, an almost smoothly sloping kerb, a level crossing can be achieved that is easy to roll over, making it easier for blind and visually impaired people as well as older people, parents with baby carriages or wheelchair users to cross.
With this crossing board, it is necessary that the field is not too thin so that it is clearly recognizable for blind and visually impaired people and that it stands out clearly from the surrounding floor covering, for example through the trapezoidal or corrugated structure, and that this structure can be felt with a long cane or even with the feet.

Material:
The crossing board is made of concrete and is optionally available with a trapezoidal or ribbed structure, which makes the
crossing board non-slip. The tactile floor tiles are also easier to recognize and distinguish for the visually impaired thanks to their good colour and luminance contrast.

Application example:
Connecting stones are provided for the left and right edging. Their sloping edge rises to a height of more than 3 cm for the connection of standard kerbstones. An attention field should be installed in front of the crossing kerb to improve recognition for blind and visually impaired road users.
