Disability and functional restriction of the employee:

Brain damage that has existed since birth has led to paralysis of the right side of the body (hemiplegia). Later, he also developed epilepsy and spinal deformity that was attempted to reduce surgically. He can physically perform light work standing, walking or sitting without time pressure. To prevent or reduce epileptic seizures, the man takes medication. The side effects of the drugs lead to fatigue, reaction delays and a reduced pace of work. The GdB (degree of disability) is 80.

Education and job:

The man was trained in a vocational training office as an office clerk. He has been working for several years with his employer as a clerical employee in the equipment department.

Workplace and work duties:

The commercial clerk works about 80 to 90 percent of his office hours, mostly at a computer workstation. As part of his work he is responsible for: - data collection and maintenance of goods from production, - the material disposition for packaging materials as well as inventory and - the processing of order returns and complaints responsible. To relieve the spine, an orthopedic office chair and an electrically height-adjustable desk were purchased, so that the clerk can work alternately in a sitting or standing posture. A small compact left-hand keyboard with numeric keypad on the left side simplifies the left-hand input of data on the PC and avoids unfavorable postures due to the otherwise necessary overlap.

In addition, the employer receives from the Integration or Inclusion Office an employment protection allowance to compensate for the exceptional burden of the reduced workload.
