Description:
In this system, a layer of viscoelastic foam and a base layer of firm foam are built into each air cell. This provides comfort and eliminates the need for an additional foam layer between the patient and the air cells, which could reduce the effect of active or reactive therapy.
In active mode, the slow and controlled movement of alternating pressure therapy combines complete pressure relief with low peak pressures.
This is complemented by technology that limits the noise level of compressor operation to 19 dB(A).
The active air cells extend to the heel area, which has an inclination of 6 degrees to support full pressure relief.
The two upper cells are not inflated or deflated during active therapy to maintain comfort in the head area.
A stable foam edge supports easy egress from the bed.
The Velaris range includes standard and plus size mattresses that allow patients weighing up to 454kg to receive active therapy.
