The Activa PC DBS neurostimulator is surgically placed in the body. While the stimulator is usually placed under the clavicle (collarbone), the electrodes are attached directly to the affected region of the brain. The emitted impulses are delivered via the electrodes to a precisely defined area in the brain and are intended to block the seizure or the unwanted mechanism in the brain.

The doctor can set the parameters with a programming device and check and correct the settings. After successful implantation, the patient receives the Intercept programming device, with which he or she can regulate the intensity within the parameters, check the battery status and switch the device on and off if necessary. The Activa PC neurostimulator can be easily removed with a surgical procedure.
