Health limitations such as epilepsy, dydtonia, Idiopathic Parkinson's Syndrome (IPS), obsessive-compulsive disorder are triggered in certain parts of the brain of the affected person. Deep brain stimulation aims to stimulate the appropriate regions of the brain and in this way prevent or minimise the seizure.

The Activa PC DBS neurostimulator is surgically placed in the body. While the stimulator is usually placed under the clavicle (collarbone), the electrodes are attached directly to the affected region of the brain. The delivered pulses are delivered through the electrodes to a precisely defined area in the brain and are intended to block the seizure or unwanted mechanism in the brain.

The physician can set the parameters with a programming device and check and correct the settings. after successful implantation, the patient receives the Intercept programming device, which allows him/her to adjust the intensity within the parameters, check the battery status and switch the device on and off if necessary. The Activa PC neurostimulator can be easily removed with a surgical procedure.
