Muscle stimulators and vibrators
Electrical muscle stimulators (EMS) stimulate muscle cells with electrical stimuli, causing the muscles to contract or relax.
Vibrators are devices that generate fast vibrations for therapy.
Therapeutic goals of muscle stimulation are, for example, the treatment of muscle injuries, the strengthening of muscle mass and the reconstruction of paralyzed muscles, the promotion of blood circulation or the training and strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles in acute or chronic incontinence conditions (in the case of continence stimulators).
Vibrators include, for example, massage devices for relaxation or percusors for draining mucus from the lungs.
