Description:
OmniPod is an insulin patch pump. It consists of two elements: The insulin patch pump, called Pod, is glued directly to the skin and controlled with the Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM). The pod combines an insulin reservoir, flexible cannula and pump. The pod is glued to the skin and provides the patient with insulin for three days without interruption - without an infusion set. The PDM is control and blood glucose meter in one. It is the connection to the pod and can be used as a kind of remote control for wireless control of bolus delivery or basal rate.
