R-Gait is a robotic device with an end effector designed to reteach the patient to walk in as natural a gait pattern as possible. The therapy principle consists of performing movements of the ankle joint supplemented by free movement of the pelvis over a high number of repetitions.
R-Gait promotes precisely dosed gait training in a safe environment and is therefore also suitable in the initial recovery phase.
The replication of foot and ankle movements is an essential prerequisite for imitating the natural gait movement. The end effector type of gait training mimics the principle of the natural gait pattern by using foot plates equipped with sensors. These support the patient in executing ankle and foot movements as in the natural gait pattern.
