Structure of the vario-lumbar orthosis (VLO):
A dorsal pad system and an abdominal pad are held in their position and brought into effect by a suitable fabric bodice.
Two bilateral symmetrical pairs of pads, anatomically designed in shape and cut, lie on the right and left, dorsally on the pelvis and lower thorax. They are connected to each other in an adjustable manner by two back rods.
The body pad is wide, elastic, springy, thin-walled and significantly enhances the effect. The straps run over the two elastic strips on the side of the bandage, without impairing its elasticity in the upper area for breathing and in the lower area to relieve the front, upper iliac spines. The trunk is held firmly between the rear pad system and the body pad.
The fabric bandage consists for the most part of a firm fabric and has a strip of elastic material on each side. The fastener made of Velcro and fleece tape is easy to use and can be adjusted continuously. The pads are each covered with skin-friendly padding material.
Compared to the fabric corsets with various pads, the powerful stabilizing effect of the vario-lumbar orthosis can be set at any desired lordosis angle.
Compared to the bridging corset, the orthosis with its large pads is more comfortable and more effective wear. The pads are only held in the bandage with Velcro. So you can, in agreement with the doctor, after the acute phase of an illness, e.g. B. Lumbal pain or for ulceration during postoperative use, remove the pads and continue to use the bandage for the expiring treatment.
To adapt the orthosis, there is a kit that consists of the following parts:
the pad system, the back bars and the corset part (in Graduations of 5 cm).
