Verur a worn artificial eye mild discomfort in the eye socket. The surface of the prosthesis, which has become rough, can severely irritate the eye socket. The first sign that the prosthesis needs to be replaced is increased tear flow. The eye socket becomes red and in the further course there may be a thick, yellowish discharge. At this stage, ophthalmological help must be sought in order to prevent the inflammation from spreading to the entire eye socket. A regular check of the eye socket by your ophthalmologist and the eventual annual renewal of the eye prosthesis by the expert ocularist ensures that the artificial eye can be worn without any problems.
