Description:

The CDS® lock combination orthosis knee-ankle joint is based on the CDS® principle and is used to treat an extension deficit of the knee joint and a dorsiflexion deficit of the ankle joint. The orthosis stimulates the growth of the shortened tissue through dynamic continuous traction. The spring force also supports the patient when standing up. The CDS® joints in the knee are equipped with a self-locking catch to stabilize and secure the stance. Further locking stages are achieved when the knee is extended further.

When the lock is engaged, the orthosis can fully absorb the patient's load, enabling standing therapy. The patient can lock or unlock the orthosis with one hand and without tools directly via a remote control on the orthosis. In "freewheel" mode, the joint is permanently set to freewheel. This enables walking shorter transfer distances and use in walking therapy.
