Description:
RISE (Research and innovation in student exoskeleton development) is an innovative and practice-oriented module of the Department of Medical Engineering at TU Berlin. Together with the student initiative "Socially Engaged Engineers" (SEI), a robotic exoskeleton is being developed that enables people with paraplegia to stand up and walk. The aim is to build a competitive exoskeleton in successive work packages, such as design, development, production and testing, which is victorious in the CYBATHLON 2024 (see https://cybathlon.ethz.ch/de) in the competition of para-athletes.
Maxon flat motors for the hip and knee joints are used, among other things. The flat design, high torques and plenty of space for cable feed-throughs allow a high level of integration into the application.
