The roll board is a sliding board with a Teflon roll sheet for moving patients at the same height between bed and bed, or stretcher and bed. There are different designs and sizes. According to the operating instructions, the patient is turned a little on their side and placed back on the rolled-up shelf. Light pressure with both hands against the patients hips and shoulder sets the sliding surface of the rollboard in motion and the patient is displaced in this way up to a maximum of 90 cm. Only one carer is required for repositioning with the help of the roll board.
In the case of a severely injured or disabled person, the use of a pull sheet and two carers is recommended.
