Assistive Product Speedy-Duo 2

The Speedy-Duo can be used to tackle rough routes and steep climbs. The Speedy-Duo 2 is based on the Speedy-Bike. The strength that the rider exerts when turning the cranks is detected by the torque control and, depending on the personal setting, the motor adds the required or desired energy. This means that the rider receives assistance from the very first second when starting off in off-road terrain or on inclines, with the rider providing only a small amount of the required strength and the motor providing the rest. The strength that the rider has to apply to the crank to activate the motor can be determined by the rider using the torque adjustment lever. This enables the rider to cope with everyday tasks on days when they are not as fit. Torque control of the motor also means that on flat roads, where little energy is required for riding, the motor only contributes a small amount of energy or switches off automatically - and switches on again automatically when additional energy is required (e.g. on hills, on poor surfaces, in headwinds).
With the motor always on standby, the Duo 2 has a range of approx. 40 km (on a predominantly flat route, with pneumatic wheelchair wheels, at 20 C outside temperature and 80 kg person weight).
