Impairment of mobility as a result of chronic or temporary functional limitations of the foot, ankle and/or distal lower leg and satisfactory preserved coordination, e.g. after/within:
- Fractures of the ankle, tarsal or midfoot
- Injury to tendons encircling the ankle
- Severe soft tissue injury to the foot and ankle
- Complex ligamentous injury to the foot and ankle
- Amputation at the level of the distal lower leg, ankle, Metatarsus or toes
- Revision surgery of the lower extremity
- Injury to the lower extremity with concomitant previous injury to the upper extremity
- Osteochondral injury to the ankle or tarsus
- After surgery on the calcaneus or other tarsal bones
- After serious surgical procedures on the forefoot
- In patients with overload reactions of the bone ("bone bruise")
- Arthrodesis of the ankle joint
- After correction of severe foot deformities, such as clubfoot, flatfoot, cavovarus foot

The NH1 is designed as an assistive products for disability compensation for people with chronic or temporary functional limitations of the foot, ankle and/or distal lower leg. The ergonomically correct positioning of the lower leg of the affected limb enables mobilization while at the same time relieving the affected leg.

The NH1 enables the user to move around safely both at home and in the vicinity of the home if this is not possible or only possible to a very limited extent with other assistive products alone, e.g. walking stick or crutches.
