Disability and functional restriction:

He had Poliomyelitis (childhood paralysis), both legs are paralysed and he is therefore severely disabled in walking. He can walk for short distances with the aid of a leg orthesis and a forearm walking aid. For lonfer stretches he is dependent on the use of a wheelchair.

Training and job:

He completed training as an industrial mechanic.

Examination modification:

For the skills or practical examination, the examination board of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) allowed him a time extension of 45 minutes to compensate for the disadvantages of the disability (reduced work speed). The severe restriction on his ability to stand and walk also made it necessary that the practical and oral examination were carried out at the training company. Thanks to the examination modification he could successfully finish his training.

Funding :

The examination fees which arose could be 100% subsidised (according to Social Security Code SGB IX §102 paragraph 3 number 2) by the Integration Office.
