Case Study
Company:
The employer operates a mail order business.
Employee's disability and functional limitation:
One of the man's legs has been amputated at the thigh. When covering or walking longer distances, painful inflammation of the residual limb occurs. Due to the disability, no longer distances should be walked and loads should not be transported manually. The degree of disability (GdB) is 100. His severely disabled person's ID card contains the mark G.
Job:
The man has been working for the employer as a warehouse and dispatch worker for several years.
Workplace and work task:
The man works in the area of the large warehouse. He often has to walk long distances to store and retrieve goods. The routes or paths within the warehouse and shipping area are narrow, level and passable. The individual floors of the building can be reached via freight elevators as well as passenger elevators. In order to reduce the strain caused by the frequent transport of loads and the associated long distances, a manoeuvrable electric scooter with a container was used to transport materials and for order picking. With the electric scooter all working areas can be reached or driven on.
