Description:
The ElectroLarynx is a functional speech aid for laryngeal operated patients.
The Speech Aid is attached to the users neck and generates sound vibrations that are transmitted through a membrane into the pharynx, mouth and mouth Nasal cavity are transmitted. Through natural speech movements, these vibrations are converted and shaped into an understandable substitute voice.
The pitch settings and the volume control of the speech aid can be adapted to the circumstances of the user via control knobs. A rotating headrest allows fine tuning of the sound quality.
In case an approach to the neck or floor of the mouth due to surgery or radiation is not possible, an oral adapter is included. This is attached to the corner of the mouth and passes through a short tube of sound directly into the oral cavity. The Electrolarynx Speech Aid does not require a special charger and is powered by a standard 9V block battery. This can be carried as a spare battery at any time. The included carrying strap facilitates the entrainment of the speech aid
