Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a communication technology for the contactless identification of goods, medicines, vehicles or living beings.
An RFID system consists of the hardware - a data carrier (transponder or TAG or radio tag) and a reader (RFID reader) for reading the identification code as well as software with all stored product data. The transponders can be glued on, embedded or implanted in living beings.
The reader reads the data using an alternating electromagnetic field or high-frequency radio waves.
