Assistive Product DL Tag It

Product Type:

System for tagging and retrieving objects

Description:

With DL Tag It blind people can search and identify objects. Tag It was originally developed for a professional job with the aim of managing objects independently and without sighted assistance, for example in warehouses. With DL Tag It, blind people can now identify any object, whether in a job or in private housekeeping and leisure. The prerequisite is that the objects are marked accordingly.

The system of marking objects is based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and identifies objects equipped with RFID chips or tags or transponders. The information is output by computer, PDA or other terminal device. Blind people receive it via voice output or Braille display; visually impaired people can additionally use screen magnification.

In its mobile version, DL Tag It enables people to move freely in rooms and find deposited objects. It is designed as a modular system that is adapted to specific job conditions. DL Tag It works with about 15 RFID readers, runs on various PDAs and on Baum's Pronto. It also integrates various devices such as the MileStone 312 SpeakOut from Bones.
