Assistive Product Tactonom Reader

The Tactonom Reader helps visually impaired people to learn with the same content as sighted people. The system helps to understand the content of a graphic by explaining elements that the finger can feel. A camera recognizes the position of the finger, whereupon the system reads out the additional explanations stored at that point with pinpoint accuracy.

With the Tactonom Reader, blind and severely visually impaired people can dispense with the help of others and participate in lessons on an equal footing. It is now also possible for them to consolidate what they have learned independently and at their own pace.

The Tactonom Reader is reimbursed by health insurance companies, subject to a successful needs assessment. This applies from early intervention onwards.
