The medium-sized company manufactures molded parts made of plastic and rubber.

Disability and functional restriction of the employee:

The man has a hearing impairment. He is only very limited acoustic information, such. B. speech and signals to perceive. Due to disabilities, therefore, audible information must be strengthened so that they can be perceived acoustically by the man - without further damaging the remaining hearing by amplifying noise. The GdB (degree of disability) is 80.

Job:

The man works as a production assistant at his employer.

Workplace and work task:

The employee is engaged in the vulcanization of technical rubber products in the production area. Due to disability, he can not perceive the emitted from a vulcanization furnace acoustic signal when reaching the process times, with his old hearing aids, while he carries out a little further away other activities. Therefore, an additional optical signal was installed to the acoustic signal, which is clearly visible. In addition, with the help of a hearing care professional, new programmable and noise-sensitive hearing aids could be modified to dampen noise and perceive speech and the oven's acoustic signal. For this purpose, appropriate measurements were made at the workplace. In conjunction with the now additionally existing optical signal display a good perception of reaching the process times is guaranteed at the vulcanization furnace. The previously restricted communication with colleagues and supervisors due to the noise is now possible again in the production area and at work with the new hearing aids.

Funding and participation:

The hearing aids were funded by the statutory health insurance or health insurance to compensate for the disability with a fixed amount. Since the person concerned also perceives speech and special acoustic signals in the noise area at his workplace and at the same time has to be protected from noise, it was not possible to provide hearing aid with a fixed amount at a fixed price. The additional demand for suitable hearing aids was therefore promoted by the pension insurance. The visual signaling system for the vulcanization furnace was funded by the Integration / Inclusion Office, with advice from the Technical Advisory Service. The consultation, measurements and adjustment of the hearing aids were carried out by the hearing care professional.
