The medium-sized company produces baking mixes and goods.
Disability and functional restriction of the employee:
The man has a severe hearing loss. Without hearing aids, he is no longer capable of acoustic information, eg. B. speech and signals to perceive. The used hearing aids are professionally approved for noise areas, for example they amplify speech very strongly (by 75 dB) and dampen noise. The man can also communicate by means of sign language.
Education and job:
The man is a trained baker. He has been recruited and has recently been working at his current employer as a production helper.
Workplace and work duties:
The employee works in shifts in the production area. Its task is to pour the raw materials delivered in bags on pallets into the storage hoppers of the erected machines. This heavy lifting and carrying exercises the employee during the entire shift, since he has no forklift driver's license and therefore is not allowed to drive a forklift. The physical activity puts a lot of strain on him, and in addition he has to be taken into account when planning the employment of the employees, because the flexible use of the employee for material transport is not possible.
In order to be able to use the employee flexibly, the employer offered the employee to obtain a forklift driver's license (qualification certificate for driving industrial trucks) in accordance with the regulations of the employers' liability insurance association. For the time of training as a forklift driver a sign language interpreter was required. The acquisition of the forklift driver's license reduced heavy lifting and carrying work and fully integrated the employee into the workgroup. Due to the disability, three bullet and two flat mirrors had to be installed at the intersections and junctions in order to prevent accidents, so that the employee can clearly see the traffic routes. In the area of the entrance to the visualization department, it was necessary to disassemble two silos because of the confusing space available so that clear traffic routes could be created. Another passage from the Sichterei to the warehouse was secured because of the poor visibility and the complete lack of hanging possibility for a mirror with a demand-controlled automatic beacon. The quiet electric forklift available in the company is equipped with a large rear-view mirror and can therefore be used well by the employees. It was agreed that the employee's driving license would be limited to the secured area of the viewing area and the associated warehouse with the charging station.
