Assistive Product Punktschrift-Tastatur T8braille

Product Type

Braille keyboard

Areas of Application

  • Blindness
  • One-handedness
  • Motor impairments

Description

Blind PC users often have satisfactory skills to work with a standard Braille keyboard. However, if no previous knowledge of such a keyboard is available or if routine use of the mechanical Braille typewriter has already been acquired, the Braille keyboard offered can be used to achieve a higher speed when entering text. Braille input is also necessary if texts are to be written in Braille for the blind.

The principle makes it possible to make all the necessary entries with just 8 keys, most of them with just 6 keys. The keys that combine to produce the desired character are normally pressed simultaneously.

The standard version of the T8 Braille keyboard can also be used by people with one-handedness and other motor impairments if it is adapted accordingly in setting mode. Three methods can be selected for this purpose.

Features / Components

  • can be used for full control of the PC
  • switching between 8- and 6-dot Braille on the device
  • three input methods can be selected
  • can also be used with one hand
  • connection via the USB port
  • parallel operation with a standard keyboard possible
