Practical example with data glasses Description:
A pair of data glasses is a small computer that combines a display, camera, microphone, touchpad, WLAN and rechargeable battery and is controlled, for example, by speech or via a touchpad on the temple. These data glasses are a commercially available product for which the software can be adapted suitable for disabled people.
The warehouse picking system relies on data glasses and an app to visually display information in the user's field of vision. A display is placed in front of the eye. Working environment and projection are perceived simultaneously as assisted reality. The user can concentrate on the task at hand while the data glasses, which are comfortable to wear, transmit all important data in real time via the display at the edge of the user's field of vision: The app dispenses almost entirely with text and guides the user through the warehouse processes with the help of images. In collaboration with warehouse workers, practical and easy-to-understand pictograms were developed for each process step. In this way, the user is guided through the warehouse and always has all the important information at a glance, such as storage location, item number and quantity of the required items.
The wide range of functions supports hands-free working.
