Description:
The glasses are designed to help people with age-related macular degeneration by picking up missing portions of images and displaying them at the edge.
A small 4K camera is built into the bridge of the glasses, which records everything nearby. Live video from the camera is displayed on a circular screen on one side of the user's field of view, where they can actually see it. The display can be zoomed in or out by voice command.
The display is shifted to the peripheral field of view. Using an app on a paired smartphone, users can first determine the exact area of their field of vision that is affected by the visual impairment. Then they determine where the camera image should be displayed. This individual adaptations should be easy to perform by oneself.
