The one-hand recorder, which can be made for the right or left hand, has three tone holes closed with keys. In this way, the index finger, middle finger and ring finger of the intact hand are also responsible for the tone holes of the corresponding fingers on the other hand. The little finger operates the flap for the thumb hole. The flutes also enable blind people to play the flute, as one hand remains free to read the notes in Braille.
