The sound chair can be played by the caregiver from the side with eye contact to the sound guest or from behind. One strokes the strings, causing the whole wood to resonate and the sounds to be transmitted to the body.
The elongated finger holes make it somewhat easier for the sound guest to reach the strings himself than with the ear-shaped finger hole and also to see the stroking playing movements. One feels secure in the semicircular shape and yet connected to the outside world.
The harp sound chair is strung with strings on the sides. On one side the low notes, pre-tuned to A, on the other side in a harmonic pitch a fifth higher to e. The notes can be tuned slightly higher or lower as needed.
