Abstract

Wheelchair cushions are used to prevent a pressure ulcer development in patients with limited mobility. A given overview of currently used product concepts and validation methods helps to select a most effective support surface for the respective patient. The article also describes the legal situation for conformity assessment procedures and for registration in German list of technical aids (Hilfsmittelverzeichnis).

Eine Übersicht zu Produktkonzepten und Bewertungsverfahren für die Antidekubitusversorgung des sitzenden Patienten

Rollstuhlsitzkissen sollen die Entstehung von Dekubitalgeschwüren bei Patienten mit eingeschränkter Mobilität oder Sensibilität im Sakralbereich verhindern.

Eine Übersicht der zurzeit am Markt angewendeten Konstruktionsprinzipien und der bekannten Prüfmethoden soll die Auswahl eines geeigneten Produkts für den jeweiligen Behinderten erleichtern.

Zusätzlich wird eine Zusammenfassung über die rechtliche Situation bei der Konformitätsbewertung und der Anmeldung zum Hilfsmittelverzeichnis gegeben.
