Areas of Application:
- Training of professional and everyday skills
- for example, for people with learning difficulties or after a craniocerebral trauma
In the workplace integration develop job coaches in cooperation with the person concerned, colleagues and supervisors strategies and aids that should support the execution of the work in the long term. Typically, this is done by taking notes or pictures of the activities that people often find stigmatizing.
The Electronic Jobcoach should, as an alternative, support the operational integration of people with learning difficulties. The digital application can be individually set up by the job coach and can still be adapted and updated even when the job coach is no longer in operation. The app can be used as a hybrid client for smartphones and tablets for Android and iOS.
The app shows the steps according to the leitmotif - as little as possible, as much as necessary - step by step and in the right order. These can be work tasks such as the cleaning process in a scullery or the safe use of a grinding tool.
The user can call up the required action steps over and over again and check the work results themselves, which promotes independent work. Since every person can use this app, it meets the requirements of universal design.
The EJO Electronic Jobcoach project has been carried out since April 2015 by the Integration Office of the Rhineland Regional Council (LVR
) together with the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences at the Technical University of Dortmund. The app is currently being tested as a prototype.
