Frederic Vester, the father of networked thinking, has created a cybernetic computer game to deal with the complex interrelationships in our world in a playful way.
ecopolicy® enables young people, adults, managers and politicians to learn how to deal with complexity in a playful way, to deal with complex systems and the high dynamics associated with networking on the basis of networked thinking and to work on solutions for a sustainable future.
Cybernetic Simulation
Under the motto: Playing helps understanding, the students control and develop realistic game countries such as the industrial country Cybernetia, the emerging country Kybinnia and the developing country Kyboria. The game simulates interdependencies resulting from game decisions and creates an understanding of ecological, economic and social interrelationships.
Own game variants
If the strategy is successful, the simulation can be redesigned according to one's own ideas, thus enabling unlimited game variants.
ecopolicy® is suitable for individual players of all ages as well as for use in groups and in schools, as a simulation game in seminars and workshops for politics and management.
Systems thinking in schools beyond the game
With the ecopolicyade, a basis has been established for students and teachers to concretely learn how to deal with complexity. In a second phase, the competition will be continued for the experienced students and winning teams on the basis of the sensitivity model according to
Prof.Vester. With this professional software tool, students and teachers model and simulate their own complex questions beyond the game (for example, they work on topics such as How am I successful in my job? or How should our region develop in a future-oriented way or How can our school become better?) The sensitivity model is usually used in management and research for dealing with complex questions. For young people and schools, using the model opens up completely new ways of working on complex topics and projects in a professional, interactive and networked way.
