Usually the mastic asphalt is delivered to the construction site by truck with a mastic asphalt stove. The further transport of the 220 - 260 degrees C hot mass from the tapping point to the installation site in the building is carried out by hand by the so-called carrier. As a rule, the carrying is done with the carrying yoke and two wooden buckets. For each transport operation, the carrier transports two filled wooden buckets including the carrying yoke with a total weight of approx. 55 - 60 kg. At ground level paving sites, wheelbarrows are sometimes used as assistive products.
The transport of the mastic asphalt represents a high strain on the musculature and the skeletal system for the persons concerned. Craneable asphalt stoves with agitators and separate heat supply are available to facilitate transport.
The use of a craneable asphalt stove results in a considerable reduction of the lifting and carrying loads and thus the strain on the spine. The proportion of physically heavy work is significantly reduced. The amount of time spent on transportation is also reduced.
