S3 shoes are often required on construction sites, company yards and in workshops. In most cases, the penetration resistance of the sole and the rigidity of the toe cap are ensured by using steel. When using lighter substitute materials, a weight reduction of approx. 20 % is achieved with the same mechanical stability.
The lighter material, in combination with the reduced bending stiffness of the sole, leads to increased wearer comfort and reduced wearer fatigue. The special consideration of the anatomical structures in the ankle joint increases protection against twisting. Shoe widths that are independent of the shoe length ensure a better fit.
