Barrier free building

Barrier-free means that buildings and rooms, means of transport, technical commodities, information technology, acoustic and visual sources of information and communication facilities can be found, accessed and used by people with disabilities without problems and without outside assistance.

According to the law, public buildings, software and digital ranges of information provided by government agencies must be barrier-free. In contrast, private companies are only obliged to provide barrier-free workplaces if they employ people with disabilities.

For building and conversion measures in private and job contexts, there are various standards as a basis for planning, as well as funding and consulting options.
