Interchangeable parts which can be combined with other, custom-made parts to fit different prostheses for the lower limbs.

Characteristics:

  • Prostheses for toes, the foot, ankle, knee and thigh
  • Rotation adapter for rotary motion between prosthetic components
  • Shock absorber to reduce impact
  • Liner for connection functions, such as the distribution of pressure or the prevention of abrasion
  • Individually customized shafts for the connection between the limb and prosthesis

Subsections of: Lower limb prostheses

Lower limb prostheses

Devices that replace part of the lower limb distal to the ankle joint after amputation or, in cases of limb deficiency at birth

Trans-tibial prostheses

Devices that replace part of the lower limb between the knee joint and the ankle joint after amputation or, in cases of limb deficiency at birth

Knee disarticulation prostheses

Devices that replace part of the lower limb at the knee joint after amputation or, in cases of limb deficiency at birth

Trans-femoral prostheses

Devices that replace part of the lower limb between the hip joint and the knee joint after amputation or, in cases of limb deficiency at birth

Hip disarticulation prostheses

Devices that replace the lower limb at the hip joint after amputation or, in cases of limb deficiency at birth

Trans-pelvic prostheses

Devices that replace the lower limb together with part or all of the hemipelvis after amputation or, in cases of limb deficiency at birth

Ankle-foot units

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to substitute for some of the functions of the foot and ankle

Torque reducers

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to allow rotation in the transverse plane between the components of the prosthesis

Shock absorbers

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to reduce peak force at initial impact

Knee units

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to substitute for some of the functions of the knee joint

Hip units

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to substitute for some of the functions of the hip joint

Liners

Devices used to provide one or more of several interface functions, including volume adjustment, pressure distribution, abrasion elimination or (suction) suspension

Prefabricated sockets

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to accommodate the residual limb and act as the interface between the limb and the prosthesis and that can be adjustable for the individual user

Alignment components for lower limb prostheses

Devices used as components of lower limb prostheses to permit changes in the position of the components relative to one another

Temporary prostheses for lower limb amputees

Devices used for the early mobilization of lower limb amputees prior to the supply of a definitive prosthesis
